Spider-Man, just your average kid
Here is the second post in a season of blog posts by members of the group that attempts to look at the question: what do super heroes mean to you?
Since the 1960’s, comic fans all over the world have delighted in the stories, involving our friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man. With an arsenal of enemies to fight, adventures in other dimensions and clones appearing to take Mr Parker’s place....

Filming for The Wolverine begins later this year
Whether or not you could stand the last two incarnations of Wolverine on screen (X-Men: The Last Stand or X-Men Origins: Wolverine) filming will begin in August for The Wolverine, according to a Tweet from Hugh Jackman.
If you’re after some classic levels of apathy towards the entire project, than may I suggest reading the comments on the reveal over at Comic Book Resources. The...

Before Watchmen gets tentative reception at KAPOW...
During our March meet, there was a general feeling of unease when we discussed Before Watchmen as part of the discussion on Watchmen. With the treatment of Alan Moore after the original publication of Watchmen a continuing by-word for how not to get treated in comics, the somewhat frosty reception by the audience at a panel at KAPOW was unsurprising.[[MORE]]As Comic Book Resources reports, when...

Fancy an "interactive online graphic story"? →
The first issue came out last month, with a second due later this month. However, according to an interview with Newsarama, Edgar Wright and Lee Edwards have been cooking up some kind of comic-game hybrid thing for Microsoft.
The point? The project - The Random Adventures of Brandon Generator - is meant to show off IE9’s HTML5 potential.
As an IE9 snob, I can’t honestly suggest...

New Hulk TV series could still be on the horizon →
A conference call suggests that the green menace may still return to the small screen.
I like the character in the recent films, but my confidence in American networks being able to produce a decent superhero TV series is somewhat low. Smallville seems like a fluke in the live action scene. There have been so many shows in production that have only gotten so far, often not to TV screens, that...

So, some reviewers have been completely... →
Like the title says. There’s been plenty of reviews downplaying the importance of the character Black Widow in The Avengers/Avengers Assemble, which is disappointing. She’s a critical character in the film, but apparently plenty of reviewers haven’t noticed this or refuse to acknowledge it.
That’s pretty sad in my books.

Universal looking very likely to produce Kick-Ass... →
According to The Hollywood Reporter, there’s a good chance that Universal will be producing the sequel, the original having been done by Lionsgate. The second film will be partly based on the Kick-Ass 2 and Hit-Girl comics mini-series.
Matthew Vaughn won’t be directing the sequel though, instead taking a producer role while giving Jeff Wadlow the director’s chair.

Comixology gets exclusive Marvel deal →
So, basically unless you’re buying straight from Marvel’s own digital store front, the only way you’re going to get their comics digitally from now on (or until the deal runs out) is through Comixology’s apps.
Now if only they sold in pounds sterling, as I dislike buying in dollars.

EDIT: Apparently comics are available in Sterling, it’s just the Android app...

Trailer #3 | The Amazing Spider-Man
This new trailer just peaked my interest ten-fold. It looks completely unique from Raimi’s version; more of a comic book feel to it.
Third trailer is out.
How are people feeling about a reboot of the film franchise? Considering that the first Raimi film only came out ten years ago this year.

Thoughts on latest trailer for The Dark Knight... →
Over on my personal blog, I have a word or two to get out on the latest trailer for The Dark Knight Rises. Basically, I got mixed feelings from the third trailer. I’m not feeling as excited about the film now as I previously was. Hopefully, though, I won’t be disappointed once the film is released in July.

Fox might be working on another X franchise →
There was some chatter over at the recent CinemaCon in Las Vegas. Collider.com are reporting that Fox are still interested in X-Men, but may be moving towards doing a feature based off of the New Mutants franchise.
Speaking with Fox CEO, Tom Rothman, there was the barest hint:
Steve: I know you guys have like The New Mutants and a lot of characters in the X-Men universe. Obviously you guys...
